Raymond Huggenberger, formerly of Sunrise Medical, joins Board of Directors at IYIA Technologies
SAN MARCOS, Calif., (Sept. 26, 2005) — IYIA Technologies, Inc., a San Marcos-based medical device company, today announced that Raymond Huggenberger has joined its Board of Directors. IYIA Technologies was founded in 2004 to develop and market the Wound Treatment System (formerly named MISTY™), a proprietary, patent-pending device for treating patients with slow healing foot wounds, primarily diabetic foot ulcers. The Wound Treatment System has been 510k-cleared by the FDA and is expected to enter the market in early 2006 after completing clinical trials underway in San Marcos and Santa Ana, Calif.

Huggenberger most recently served as president and chief operating officer of Sunrise Medical, a $600 million medical technology manufacturer based in San Diego. During his tenure at Sunrise, Huggenberger took part in the management and Private Equity (Vestar Capital) leveraged buyout of the company, taking Sunrise from a public to private company in a $400 million transaction. His career at Sunrise began as vice president of sales, marketing and product development in the companys German subsidiary, where he was promoted to president and CEO of Sunrise Medical-Germany. Huggenberger was subsequently promoted to executive vice president of the company and president of European Operations, based in Birmingham, England. In that position he was charged with restructuring the $200 million European business prior to moving to San Diego to become president and COO of the parent company.
Huggenberger is a resident of Encinitas, Calif., where he resides with his wife and son.
